Energy
A lot of the energy the building needs to operate is generated through its own sources. The roof of the building is featured with multiple solar panels. Additionally the temperature in the building is regulated aquathermically. This method uses warm water, which is extracted from surface water in the summer, then stores this inside a heat and cold exchanger underground. In the winter the warm water is pumped up.
In the apartment you can regulate the temperature by making use of the climate control. You can increase or decrease the temperature by 3 degrees celsius.
If you would like to contribute to our energy saving efforts, it is as easy as removing the key card from the card holder when you leave the room. By doing so the electricity in the room will be disconnected and no unnecessary energy will be used while the apartment is vacant.
Water
All faucets and showerhead in the hotel are fitted with water-saving filters. Without influencing the water pressure, you can enjoy showers that use no more than 6 litres of water per minute. Additionally all toilets have dual flush systems which save 1.6 L per flush.
Waste
Throughout the hotel you will notice that we separate waste. For example; at the bar the waste bin has 3 individual containers, so that you can separate : Swill (organic waste), Plastic, Metal, Drink container (PMD) and residual waste. In the apartments the bin in the kitchen also features 2 halves. Separating PMD and residual waste.
On both the 2nd and 3rd floor there is a designated ‘Rubbish room’ where you can separate and dispose of paper, glass, residual and PMD waste.
General
By using eco-friendly products, suppliers and vendors we always make an effort to operate as sustainable as possible. The building features light sensors, which are activated by movement, to power up the LED-bulbs. These automatically switch off when there is no activity, to reduce any unnecessary use of energy.
At the reception we exclusively use 100% recycled and eco-friendly copier paper. Printing is only done when absolutely necessary. Empty ink cartridges are donated to the Clini Clown foundation, which are then recycled.
